Getting a dog to drink enough water is one of those quiet, ongoing jobs an owner does without ever being told they're doing it, and a broth topper is one way of adding extra fluid to a meal without any fuss.

Forthglade's Beef Broth Topper is 98% beef bone broth, with dried blueberry powder (0.4%), glucosamine (0.2%), chondroitin (0.2%), psyllium (0.1%) and parsley (0.1%) added. It's grain-free and classed as complementary — a topper, not a meal replacement. Forthglade's guidance is around 45g added to dry food daily, four servings per 180g pouch, with the main meal reduced slightly to account for the extra calories. It's very low in everything except moisture: protein 3.5%, fat 1.2%, fibre 0.6%, ash 1.2%, moisture 95%, at 16.75kcal per 100g.

• Beef bone broth 98%
• Glucosamine and chondroitin at 0.2% each
• ~45g a day added to dry food (4 servings per 180g pouch)
• 16.75kcal/100g
• Grain-free
• A topper, not a meal replacement

What the joint ingredients don't confirm. Glucosamine and chondroitin are genuinely in the recipe, but at 0.2% each with no dosed clinical amount stated, this isn't a substitute for an actual joint supplement — treat it as an ingredient inclusion rather than a measured dose. Forthglade's own guidance is also to reduce the main meal slightly when adding this, so it's worth not simply adding it on top without adjusting.

Who it's for: owners wanting to add moisture, flavour and a small amount of joint-support ingredients to an existing dry food, rather than looking for a dosed supplement.
