Full description
A retractable lead that jerks and grabs is usually the braking mechanism, not the dog, which is why flexi build their braking system as a specific feature rather than an afterthought bolted onto a reel. Getting that part smooth is most of what separates a good tape lead from a frustrating one.
This is flexi's New Comfort tape lead in the Medium size, giving 5 metres of tape rated for dogs up to a maximum of 25kg. It has a customised handle adjustment system, a comfortable braking system, a soft grip, and a chromed snap hook at the lead end. flexi also make it compatible with their optional LED lighting system and Multi Box accessories, sold separately.
- 5 metre tape lead
- For dogs up to 25kg maximum
- Comfortable braking system
- Soft grip handle
- Chromed snap hook
- Can be customised with flexi's LED lighting or Multi Box (sold separately)
- Lead itself weighs approximately 300g
On the weight figures. flexi quote the lead's own weight as approximately 300g, which is lighter than how it will actually arrive - the parcel includes packaging on top, so don't take the 300g figure as what lands on your doorstep.
Who it's for: owners of dogs up to 25kg who want a tape lead over a cord type, with the option to add flexi's own lighting or storage accessories later.

Why we chose it
flexi's braking system is the reason to pick their tape lead over a cheaper equivalent - a lead that locks smoothly rather than snatching makes a real difference on a dog that pulls. Being able to add their LED system later, rather than needing it built in from the start, also means you're not paying for a feature you might not use.
