A retractable lead that jerks and grabs is usually the braking mechanism, not the dog, which is why flexi build their braking system as a specific feature rather than an afterthought bolted onto a reel. Getting that part smooth is most of what separates a good tape lead from a frustrating one.
This is flexi's New Comfort tape lead in the Medium size, giving 5 metres of tape rated for dogs up to a maximum of 25kg. It has a customised handle adjustment system, a comfortable braking system, a soft grip, and a chromed snap hook at the lead end. flexi also make it compatible with their optional LED lighting system and Multi Box accessories, sold separately.
