Choosing a colour

• Hot Pink — The bones on this one are reflective, so headlights pick out the lead itself rather than just the dog. That is the difference between this and the plain webbing versions, and it costs very little more. Five-year guarantee.
• Purple — The bones on this one are reflective, so headlights find the lead itself rather than only the dog, which is the difference between seeing a shape and seeing a person with a dog. Standard 1.2m, Red Dingo hardware, five-year guarantee.
• Red — The reflective bones run the whole length of the webbing, so headlights pick out the entire line between your hand and the dog rather than one small patch. It is reflective, not luminous, so it needs a car or a torch to work.
