A good bed lets your pet stretch out and curl up. Measure your pet nose-to-tail while they’re lying down, then add room to move.

How to measure

Measure your pet from nose to base of tail while lying relaxed.
Add roughly 15–25 cm so they can stretch out fully.
For pets that like to curl, you can size down slightly for a snug, den-like feel.

Some animals sleep flat out in the middle of the room and some want walls. A domed nest gives the second sort somewhere with a roof over it and a rim to tuck against, which is why nervous cats and small dogs settle into one far faster than they ever do on an open mattress. The cartoon face is for you. The enclosed shape is for them.

Velvet outer, rebound PP cotton filling. The rebound wadding is the detail that decides how long a cave bed lasts, because cheap hollowfibre packs down flat within weeks and the roof sags shut, whereas rebound fibre springs back after each nap. The four sizes run from a 50cm shell for a cat or a very small dog up to an 80cm one, so the same shape works for a kitten and for a spaniel who still likes to sleep curled.

Small: 50cm across, for pets up to 5kg
Medium: 60cm, up to 12kg
Large: 70cm, up to 25kg
Extra large: 80cm, up to 45kg

The weight guides are optimistic. A 25kg dog will physically fit the 70cm shell but will sleep with its head on the rim rather than inside the hood. Size by how your pet actually sleeps: animals who curl can take the quoted size, sprawlers should go up one. The manufacturer gives no washing instructions for the velvet or the filling, so treat it as spot-clean only until we can confirm otherwise.
