Watch a cat get up from a nap and the first thing it does is stretch and scratch. That is why scratchers placed beside the bed get used and scratchers placed in the hall do not. A lounger with a sisal seat puts the two together: the cat sleeps on it, wakes up, and scratches the thing it is already lying on.

The frame is wood, cut in the shape of a small reclining chair, and the seat and back are one continuous mat of woven sisal curving up at both ends. The seat is raised off the floor on four feet, so air moves underneath it. It arrives flat packed and the side panels bolt together.

On measurements: The maker does not give the assembled size, so we will not guess at one. Going by the photographs it suits a cat of average build lying stretched out, and the flat pack it ships in is 60 x 50cm. The maker's own pictures claim it bears 50kg; we have not tested that and would treat it as cat furniture, not a stool.
