Full description
A scratching post only works if it stands where the cat wants to scratch, and that is usually the middle of the living room, next to the furniture it is replacing. So it helps if the post is something you are happy to look at. This one is a small palm tree: a sisal trunk with green leaves at the top and two little coconuts hanging from them.
It stands 45cm tall on a wooden base 38cm wide. Beside the trunk sits a ball wrapped in sisal, which gives a second scratching surface a cat can wrap its paws around. Both the trunk and the ball stand in rings set into the base, and each ring is a track with small balls that roll around it when batted.
- Sisal-wrapped trunk and sisal scratching ball
- 45cm tall, base 38cm wide
- Two ball tracks set into the wooden base
- Two hanging balls under the leaves
- Wide base for stability
- Quick self-assembly
On size: 45cm is a small post. Kittens and smaller cats can stretch against it; a large adult will use the ball and the lower trunk but cannot get a full-length stretch. The maker also notes that measurements can vary by a centimetre or two. If your cat is big, treat this as a second scratching spot rather than the only one.
Who it's for: Kittens and small cats, flats where the scratching post has to live in plain sight, and cats who like to grab and bunny-kick as well as scratch.

Common questions
How tall is the palm tree post?
It is 45cm tall on a base 38cm wide. That suits kittens and smaller cats best.
What is the ball for?
The ball is wrapped in sisal like the trunk, so it is a second scratching surface. Cats tend to hug it and rake it with their back feet, which a post does not let them do.
Is it stable?
The base is wide and made of wood, which keeps it steady for a small or medium cat. A heavy cat jumping at the top could tip any 45cm post, so stand it on a flat floor rather than deep carpet.
Does it need assembly?
Yes, but only a few minutes of it. The trunk, the leaves and the ball fix onto the base.
How long does delivery take?
Your estimated delivery date is shown above and updates automatically. UK orders are sent tracked — standard delivery is £2.99, and free on orders over £39.
How do I track my order?
As soon as your order is dispatched we email you a tracking link, so you can follow it all the way to your door.
What is it made from?
Sisal, wood. Full specifications are listed above.
What if I need to return my order?
You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind. Just email us with your order number and we’ll send the return steps the same working day — see our delivery & returns page for details.

Why we chose it
Most scratching posts are something you hide behind a chair. This one looks like it was meant to be in the room, and it adds a sisal ball, which cats grip and kick in a way a post does not allow.
