Full description
The reason cats choose the sofa arm is that it does not move. They can dig in, lean back and pull with their full weight. A light scratcher that skids across the floor teaches them to go back to the furniture. The L shape solves that neatly: the cat stands on the flat part to reach the upright part, and holds it still by standing there.
This one is 58cm tall, 26.5cm wide and 42cm deep. Both the upright panel and the base are corrugated cardboard set in a green and orange frame, so there is a vertical surface for stretching and a horizontal one for raking or for sitting on afterwards. Between the two are a pair of slots with bell balls that slide from side to side.
- 58cm tall, 26.5cm wide, 42cm deep
- Corrugated cardboard on the upright and the base
- Two tracks with bell balls
- Stands flat against a wall or the side of a sofa
- Base doubles as a place to sit
On what we do not know: The maker describes it as double sided and suitable for large cats, but gives no weight limit and does not say whether replacement cardboard panels are sold, so we cannot promise either. The cardboard surfaces will wear with use, as all cardboard scratchers do.
Who it's for: Cats who scratch the side of the sofa or the door frame, small flats where a scratcher has to sit flush to a wall, and cats who like a bit of play built into their scratching.

Common questions
What size is it?
It is 58cm tall, 26.5cm wide and 42cm deep, so it needs about the floor space of a shoe box and stands flat against a wall.
Will it slide when my cat scratches it?
It is designed so the cat stands on the base while scratching the upright, which holds it in place. Standing it against a wall or the sofa makes it steadier still.
Can the cardboard be replaced?
We do not know of replacement panels for this model, so we would treat it as a scratcher that lasts as long as its cardboard does.
Do the balls come out?
They sit in slots in the frame and slide from side to side. They are meant to stay in the frame during play.
How long does delivery take?
Your estimated delivery date is shown above and updates automatically. UK orders are sent tracked — standard delivery is £2.99, and free on orders over £39.
How do I track my order?
As soon as your order is dispatched we email you a tracking link, so you can follow it all the way to your door.
What is it made from?
Corrugated cardboard, plastic frame. Full specifications are listed above.

Why we chose it
An upright scratcher usually tips or slides when a cat pulls on it. Here the cat stands on the base while it scratches the upright, so its own weight pins the thing down.
