An assistance dog can't simply be swapped off a food that doesn't suit it and left to work out a new normal on the job, so having a protein already proven to agree with the dog matters more here than it does for a pet with an easier schedule.

This is Burns' lamb version of the Alert Assistance recipe: brown rice and dried lamb form the base, with salmon oil, green tea extract and blueberry extract added for antioxidant support, and vitamin E raised well above Burns' everyday level. It's a complete food aimed at dogs whose work asks for steady focus rather than raw mileage.

• Complete food for assistance and working dogs, built for calm focus rather than raw mileage
• Composition: Brown Rice 58%, Dried Lamb 22%, Oats, Peas, Salmon Oil 1%, Chicken Oil, Sunflower Oil, Seaweed 0.5%, Minerals, Green Tea Extract 0.01%, Blueberry Extract 0.01%

• Omega-6 1.53%, Omega-3 0.27%
• Vitamin E raised to 200IU alongside the green tea and blueberry extract

On the recipe name. This is listed as Lamb & Rice on our shop, but Burns' own composition specifies brown rice (58%) rather than a blend - useful to know if matching it against another dog's plain-rice diet. As with the rest of this range, Burns don't publish separate feeding guidance by activity level, so working and non-working dogs are fed from the same standard adult chart.

Who it's for: assistance and working dogs already settled on lamb, or being started on a novel protein for calm focus rather than raw energy output.
