Beta 1+ Adult Dog Sensitive Salmon

"Sensitive" on a dog food bag almost always means one thing: the usual mixed meat has been swapped for a single named protein, on the theory that fewer proteins means fewer chances for a dog to react to one of them. It isn't a promise that any given dog will do better on it, only that this recipe is built around one meat instead of several.

Here that meat is salmon, at 17% as salmon meal, ahead of wheat, corn and rice as the main carbohydrate content. Soya meal, animal fats and a dried chicory root prebiotic (1%) are added around it, and Purina's instruction is to bring a dog onto it gradually over seven days rather than switching the bowl overnight.

On what "sensitive" doesn't cover. This recipe changes the meat, not the grains - wheat, corn, rice and soya are all still in the composition. If a dog's reaction is to grain or soya rather than to a particular meat, swapping to this bag won't address that; it's built for a meat sensitivity specifically.
