A hard plastic bed shell is easy to clean but not something most animals would choose to lie directly on, which is what a liner is for rather than the bed itself.

Bestpet's Cosy Cushion Liner is a 50cm soft liner designed to fit inside plastic pet beds, adding a padded, supportive surface on top of the moulded shell. It's aimed at cats, small dogs and other small pets.

• 50cm liner
• Designed for use inside plastic beds
• Adds softness and warmth over a hard shell
• Suits cats, small dogs and other small pets

What we don't know. Bestpet haven't told us whether this is machine-washable or which specific plastic bed models it fits, so if you already own a plastic bed shell, it's worth checking the liner's size against it before ordering.

Who it's for: owners with an existing hard plastic bed shell wanting a softer surface to put inside it, for a cat, small dog or similarly sized pet.
