A dog getting up off a mat on a laminate floor pushes the mat backwards, and does it again every single time. That is the problem the ribbed backing on this one exists to solve, and it is the difference between bedding that stays where you put it and bedding you straighten twice a day.

Vetbed is a mat rather than a cushion: a 100% polyester pile made from recycled plastic bottles, with a ribbed non-slip back on the underside. Vetbed's own case for the fabric is that it is soft, dries quickly, and that the polyester they use naturally inhibits bacterial growth. It goes in the machine, and they describe it as suitable for animals from birth to old age, so the same piece covers a whelping box, a crate, a cage or the back of a car.
