A good bed lets your dog stretch out and curl up. Measure your dog nose-to-tail while they’re lying down, then add room to move.
How to measure
- Measure your dog from nose to base of tail while lying relaxed.
- Add roughly 15–25 cm so they can stretch out fully.
- For pets that like to curl, you can size down slightly for a snug, den-like feel.
| Size | Typical internal length | Rough guide |
|---|---|---|
| S | up to ~50 cm | toy & small breeds |
| M | ~50–70 cm | Small–medium dogs |
| L | ~70–90 cm | Medium–large dogs |
| XL | 90 cm + | Large & giant breeds |
Ranges are approximate and vary by style. Always check this product’s Specifications for its exact dimensions.
Full description
A dog that likes to curl up rather than sprawl is telling you something about the shape of bed it actually wants, which an oval bed answers more naturally than a rectangular cushion does.
This is Dubex's Ottoman-inspired oval bed, made from a velvet-style fabric with a plush filling. It's finished in an emerald green exterior with a soft grey interior cushion, and sits on a non-slip base so it stays put on hard flooring. The cushion cover is removable for washing.

On sizing. Dubex don't give us the exact dimensions behind "medium" for this bed, so measure your dog stretched out and compare against the product photos before ordering, rather than assuming medium fits a particular breed.
Who it's for: dogs that curl rather than sprawl, and owners who want a washable cover on a bed that still looks like a piece of furniture rather than a plain cushion.

Why we chose it
The removable cover is what actually makes a bed like this practical long-term, since a plush fabric that can't be washed separately gets replaced far sooner. The green and grey colourway sits well in most rooms without looking like a typical pet product, which is worth something on its own.
