It's worth checking what percentage of a named-ingredient dog food is actually that ingredient before assuming the front of the bag tells the whole story, and this is a case where the gap is a large one.

On the name. "Complete Chicken" states a minimum of 4% chicken within the meat and animal derivatives category — the largest ingredient by far is cereals. It's a genuine chicken-containing food, but chicken is a minor component rather than the headline the name suggests.

Who it's for: owners who want a budget complete dry food and aren't relying on chicken being a major share of the recipe — if you need a higher-meat-content food, this isn't pitched at that end of the range.
