This is a topper, not a dinner. Three ingredients, 75% chicken breast in its own broth with a little rice, packed so you can see the fibres of the meat rather than a pate. It exists for the puppy who has gone off their kibble, or the one who needs the bowl to smell of something before they will commit to it.

The composition is unusually short for wet puppy food: Chicken Breast 75%, Chicken Broth, Rice. There is no gelling agent, no meat derivative, no added sugar. Applaws give the energy density as 818 kcal/kg, which is high for something that is mostly broth, and that is the chicken doing the work.

No. Applaws state it is a complementary pet food for puppies. It has no added vitamins or minerals, so it has to go over a complete puppy food.

How much can I give?

Applaws say feed up to 1 can a day, depending on the size, weight, age and exercise levels of your puppy. Reduce the main meal to match.

Where is the protein and fat percentage?

Applaws do not publish an analytical constituents panel for any Taste Toppers recipe, only the composition and the calorie density. We would rather tell you that than print numbers we have not read.

Is there rice in it, and does that matter?

Yes, rice is the third and last ingredient after chicken breast and chicken broth. If you are avoiding grain entirely, the Applaws stew and gravy recipes use potato starch instead.
