Brand: Ancol

Full description

Some dogs will tolerate a full brushing session everywhere except two places — the ears and the face — and the usual fix isn't more patience, it's a softer brush kept specifically for those two spots.

This brush is built the same way as the rest of Ancol's soft range: gentle bristles suited to all coat types, aimed particularly at nervous pets and sensitive areas, and useful for smoothing a coat after it's already been groomed with a moulting comb or slicker.

Extra-soft bristles
Suitable for all coat types
Aimed at nervous pets and sensitive areas
Useful for finishing after a moulting comb or slicker
For nervous pets, start slowly and pause if agitated

What the makers don't tell us. There's no minimum age given for puppies beyond listing them as suitable, and no bristle count or brush-head size, so we can't compare it against a firmer brush beyond "softer".

Who it's for: owners of a nervous dog, a puppy being introduced to grooming, or anyone who needs a gentler brush for sensitive areas specifically.

Ancol Ergo Soft Bristle Brush

Why we chose it

A soft brush earns its keep in the last five minutes of a grooming session rather than the whole thing — the bit around the face most dogs actually mind. It's cheap enough to keep as a second brush purely for that job.
