Zeus dog toys and chews

Zeus covers two distinct ranges in what we stock: a set of tough, weighted Nitro toys built for fetch and tug, and a Bones and Better Bones chew line in flavours like chicken, lamb and mint, and duck and cranberry. Here's what's genuinely in each range and who it suits.

The Nitro toy range

The Nitro line is built around durability for keen chewers and enthusiastic fetch dogs: a weighted tugger, weighted balls, a weighted slinger, a weighted buoy with rope, and a flying disc. The weighting is the distinctive feature here, giving the toys a different feel and flight to a standard lightweight ball or disc.

These suit dogs who play hard and go through softer toys quickly, though no toy is indestructible, and any chew toy should be sized to the dog and supervised, particularly for a strong or determined chewer.

The Bones and Better Bones chew range

Alongside the toys, we stock a range of Zeus wrap bones, twists and large rolls in flavours including chicken, lamb and mint, and duck and cranberry, sized from small to large rolls depending on the dog. These are aimed at dogs who enjoy a longer-lasting chew rather than a quick treat.

As with any chew, size it to your dog and supervise while they're working through it, particularly the first time you offer a new shape or size, since chewing style varies a lot between individual dogs. The Better Bones line sits alongside the standard Bones range, giving a choice of shape and format within the same set of flavours.

Choosing between the two ranges

If you're after something for active play, fetch or tug, the Nitro toys are the relevant range; if you want something for your dog to settle down and work through on their own, the Bones and Better Bones chews are the better fit. Plenty of households end up with a mix of both, used for different times of day.

Whichever you choose, it's worth matching size and format to your individual dog's chewing style and jaw strength rather than going purely on breed size, since two dogs of a similar size can wear through a toy or chew at very different rates.

Common questions

Do you have customer reviews for Zeus products?
We don't currently collect a published review score on the site, so we can't point you to star ratings here. This page sets out exactly what's in the range instead, so you can judge whether it suits your dog.
Are Zeus Nitro toys suitable for strong chewers?
The weighted design makes them more robust than a standard lightweight toy, but no toy is genuinely indestructible against a determined chewer. Supervise play, particularly to start with, and retire any toy that starts to break down.
What size Zeus chew should I choose for my dog?
Sizing depends on your dog's breed and jaw strength as much as their weight, so check the size guidance on the specific product rather than going by weight alone. A chew that's too small for a large, strong-jawed dog can be swallowed rather than chewed properly.
