Full description
A hard plastic frisbee can be genuinely unpleasant for a dog to catch out of the air, which is part of why so many end up abandoned after a few throws. Softening the material without losing the flight of a proper disc is the harder engineering problem, and it's the one this toy is built around.
The Zeus NITRO Flying Disc is made using technology drawn from professional sports gear, aimed at being both durable and soft. Zeus describe it as flexible and bouncy, with an ideal weight for good throws and for challenging a dog's athleticism, and it's designed to float, making it suitable for water play as well as on land. The material is FDA-approved, and it's built for use across all seasons.
- Soft, flexible and bouncy construction
- Designed to float, for water play
- FDA-approved material
- Built for all-season use
- 24cm disc
One thing worth knowing. "Gentle on your dog's teeth" is Zeus's own framing for the soft material, not a claim we've tested ourselves, and any disc thrown hard enough can still catch a dog's mouth awkwardly, so supervise the game rather than relying on softness alone.
Who it's for: owners of a dog that plays fetch with a disc and would benefit from a softer catch than a hard plastic frisbee, including dogs that also swim or play in water.

Why we chose it
A disc that floats opens up water play as well as land, which a lot of frisbees simply don't manage. FDA-approved material is also a more concrete reassurance than most toys offer about what's actually going in a dog's mouth.
