Forthglade dog food — what we stock
We don't collect or publish customer reviews on this site, so if you have landed here looking for star ratings, this is the honest alternative: a straight description of what Forthglade actually is, the ranges we stock, and who each one tends to suit, so you can judge it against what your own dog needs rather than a rating.
What Forthglade is
Forthglade is a UK dog food brand known for gently cooked, natural recipes across complete meals, treats and toppers. The range we carry includes complete adult and senior meals in flavours such as chicken, turkey and lamb, several of them grain-free, alongside British Classics trays, soft bite treats and broth toppers.
The recipes generally lead with a named meat and keep the ingredient lists relatively short compared with some heavily processed foods, which is part of why the brand has built a following among owners looking for a simpler-looking recipe on the label.
The trays are sold as single-serve portions in most of the complete meal range, which some owners find more convenient for portion control and freshness than a large multi-serve tub that needs refrigerating once opened.
Who the range suits
The complete meal trays work well as a primary wet food or as part of a mixed feeding routine alongside a dry food, and the range spans adult, senior and grain-free options, so there is usually a fit whatever life stage or sensitivity you are feeding for.
The treats and toppers are a way to add variety or encourage a fussier eater without switching the main diet, and are worth trying if your dog is bored of its usual food rather than as a first step for a dog with no eating issues.
How to introduce it to your dog's routine
If you are switching from a different wet food, introduce Forthglade gradually over several days, mixing increasing amounts in with the current food rather than swapping over in one go, which gives your dog's digestion time to adjust.
The complete meal trays can also be used as a topper over dry food rather than a full meal replacement, which is a lower-commitment way to try the range or add variety without changing your dog's main diet outright.

Common questions
- Why doesn't Giddy Pets show star ratings for Forthglade?
- We don't collect customer reviews across the site, so we have chosen not to publish ratings we don't genuinely have, rather than make something up. This page describes the actual range instead, so you can judge it on the facts.
- Is Forthglade suitable for dogs with sensitive stomachs?
- Some owners of dogs with sensitive stomachs do choose Forthglade because of its shorter ingredient lists, but every dog is different, and any diet change for a dog with a known sensitivity is worth discussing with your vet first.
- Does Forthglade make grain-free options?
- Yes, several recipes in the range we stock are labelled grain-free, alongside grain-inclusive options, so there is a choice depending on what your dog needs or what your vet has recommended.
- Does Forthglade suit puppies?
- The range includes recipes suited to different life stages, so check the specific product for puppy suitability before buying, since not every recipe in the wider range is formulated for growth. Your vet can advise if you are unsure which stage food is right for your puppy.
