Coa Boomi Ball outdoor dog balls

The Boomi Ball is a simple outdoor fetch ball from Coa, made in bright colours specifically so it stands out against grass rather than disappearing into it the way a plain tennis ball can. It's a straightforward toy without much to overthink, which is exactly the point.

What we stock

We carry four sizes: a 4-inch ball in coral, a 6-inch ball in sky blue, an 8-inch ball in teal, and the largest, a 10-inch ball in lime. Each is a single colour rather than a multipack, so you can pick the size that suits your dog and the colour that's easiest for you to spot at a distance.

They're built for outdoor fetch rather than indoor play or heavy chewing, so treat them as a garden or park toy rather than something to leave with a dog who chews unsupervised.

How to pick the right size

As a rough guide, smaller dogs and puppies do better with the 4 or 6-inch balls, which are easier to pick up and carry, while larger, stronger-jawed dogs suit the 8 or 10-inch sizes better, both for a comfortable grip and to reduce the choking risk of too small a ball for their mouth.

If you're unsure between two sizes, sizing up is generally the safer choice for a large dog, since a ball that's too small for a big dog's mouth is a genuine hazard in a way that one slightly too large simply isn't.

It's also worth thinking about how your dog plays rather than just their size — a dog who carries a ball proudly rather than crushing it in their jaw can often manage a slightly smaller size comfortably, while an enthusiastic chewer is safer with the largest size that's practical for their build.

Common questions

What size Boomi Ball should I get for a large dog?
The 8 or 10-inch sizes suit larger, stronger-jawed dogs best, both for a comfortable grip and to avoid the choking risk of a ball that's too small for their mouth. If you're between sizes, it's generally safer to size up for a big dog.
Are Boomi Balls suitable for chewing?
They're designed as outdoor fetch balls rather than chew toys, so they're best used for throwing and retrieving rather than left with a dog to chew unsupervised. For dedicated chewing, a proper chew toy is the safer choice.
Can Boomi Balls be used in water?
They're an outdoor ball rather than a water-specific toy, so check the individual listing if water play is what you have in mind, and keep an eye on your dog whenever they're playing fetch near water regardless of the toy.
Why does the colour of the ball matter?
Bright, solid colours like lime, coral and teal are easier to spot against grass than a traditional yellow tennis ball, which helps at the end of a throw when the ball has landed in long grass or fading light. It's a small detail, but a ball you can actually find again gets used more.
Do you sell the Boomi Ball in a multipack?
No, each colour and size is sold individually rather than as a set, so you can choose exactly the size and colour that suits your dog rather than paying for a bundle of sizes you may not need.
