Burgess pet food
If you're after a Burgess discount code, we don't run one, so we can't offer that here. What we do stock is genuinely broad: Burgess is best known for the Excel range built for rabbits, guinea pigs and other small pets, alongside its own dog and cat food lines, and we carry a selection across all three.
The Excel small animal range
Excel is Burgess's largest and best-known range, covering nuggets and feeding hay for rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas and rats, plus a line of forage-style treats such as hay bars and dried vegetables. It's built around high-fibre nutrition, which matters for small herbivores whose digestive systems depend on a consistently high-fibre diet.
Within Excel there are life-stage and need-specific options — junior and dwarf rabbit formulas, indoor rabbit nuggets, and light recipes for less active animals — so it's worth matching the specific product to your pet's age and activity level rather than buying whichever bag is easiest to find.
The dog and cat side
Burgess also makes dog food, including its Sensitive range aimed at dogs with digestive sensitivities, and a Supadog everyday range across puppy, adult and mature life stages. Its cat food line covers adult, neutered, mature and kitten formulas. Both are a smaller part of what we carry than the Excel range, so check the grid for current availability.
The Sensitive dog range is the part of the Burgess catalogue most likely to be relevant if you're dealing with a dog who reacts to certain proteins, since it's built specifically around easier digestion rather than being a general everyday food with sensitivity claims added on.
Choosing the right part of the range
If you have a rabbit, guinea pig or other small herbivore, start with Excel and match the life-stage or need-specific formula to your pet rather than picking any bag — junior, mature and light versions exist for a reason. If you have a dog with a known sensitivity, the Sensitive range is the more targeted choice over the everyday Supadog line.
It's worth checking your pet's current weight and activity level against the specific formula's intended use before switching, particularly for the light and indoor variants, since these are built for animals with lower energy needs rather than being a universally better default choice.

Common questions
- Is there a Burgess discount code at Giddy Pets?
- No, we don't currently run one. We sell the range at our normal prices, and any genuine offers that are live at the time will show in the grid above rather than needing a separate code.
- What is Burgess Excel best known for?
- It's a high-fibre food range built for rabbits, guinea pigs and other small herbivores, including nuggets, feeding hay and forage-style treats. It's the largest part of the Burgess range and the one the brand is most associated with.
- Does Burgess make dog food as well as small pet food?
- Yes, alongside Excel, Burgess makes dog food including a Sensitive range for digestive sensitivities and a Supadog everyday range, plus a smaller cat food line. All three sit under the same brand but are quite different products.
- Do we stock the whole Burgess range?
- No, we carry a selection across the small pet, dog and cat lines rather than every product Burgess makes. What's shown in the grid above reflects current stock.
