Alpha dog food
Alpha is a UK-made complete dry dog food brand, sitting in the everyday, widely available part of the market alongside names like Harringtons and Wagg. We stock a selection from the Alpha range as one of our everyday dry food options.
Who Alpha are
Alpha positions itself as a straightforward, UK-produced complete dry food rather than a premium or specialist brand, and it has built a following among owners looking for a dependable everyday food without paying for the marketing that comes with the more heavily promoted premium names.
The range spans different life stages and formulations rather than a single fixed recipe, which is fairly typical for a brand at this level of the market, aimed at giving owners a straightforward choice rather than an overwhelming number of niche variations.
What we stock, and who it suits
We stock a selection from the wider Alpha range as one of our everyday dry food options. What is shown in the grid above reflects what is currently available to order, since our range from any one brand shifts a little between deliveries.
This is a brand that tends to suit owners looking for a dependable, UK-produced dry food at an accessible price point, rather than those specifically seeking a grain-free, raw or single-protein hypoallergenic formulation. As with any food, the right choice comes down to your individual dog's age, size and any sensitivities.
Where Alpha sits against the bigger names
Alpha does not carry the marketing budget or shelf presence of the largest premium brands, and it is not trying to compete on that ground. Its position is closer to Harringtons and similar everyday names: a straightforward complete food without the price tag or the packaging of a specialist premium range.
For an owner simply wanting a reliable, UK-made dry food to feed day in and day out, that positioning is exactly the point rather than a compromise. Anyone chasing a specific formulation, such as grain-free or a single named protein for a known sensitivity, is better served checking the individual recipe details than assuming Alpha covers every angle.

Common questions
- Is Alpha a good brand of dog food?
- Alpha is a dependable, UK-produced dry food brand aimed at the everyday end of the market. As with any brand, whether it suits your dog comes down to matching the specific recipe to their age, size and any known sensitivities, rather than the brand name on its own.
- Does Giddy Pets stock the whole Alpha range?
- No, we stock a selection from the wider Alpha range rather than every recipe the brand makes. What is shown in the grid above reflects what we currently have available to order, and that can change as stock does from one week to the next.
- Is Alpha suitable for puppies or senior dogs?
- Check the specific product, since Alpha's range spans different life stages rather than one single recipe for every dog. Choose a formula clearly labelled for your dog's life stage, whether puppy, adult or senior, rather than assuming any bag from the range suits every age.
