AniWrap cohesive bandages
AniWrap is a cohesive bandage — a wrap that sticks to itself rather than to fur or skin, so it holds in place without tape, pins or clips. We stock it as a paw-specific bandage and as a general cohesive wrap for dogs and cats, both aimed at securing a dressing rather than treating what's underneath it.
You might also want to browse grooming brushes for dogs and dog herding balls.
What a cohesive bandage is for
Because it only sticks to itself, a cohesive bandage can be wrapped fairly firmly around a paw or a leg without pulling on fur the way an adhesive tape dressing would when it's removed. That makes it a practical way to keep a dressing, a pad or a light protective layer in place after a minor cut, graze or paw pad injury while it heals.
It isn't a treatment in itself — it's a way of holding something else, whether that's a wound dressing, cotton wool, or simply protecting a sore paw from further knocks, securely in place.
Using it well, and when it isn't enough
Wrap firmly enough to stay on but not so tight that it restricts circulation — check that toes stay a normal colour and temperature after wrapping, and loosen it straightaway if they don't. Change the wrap regularly rather than leaving one on for days, particularly if it's covering a wound rather than just protecting a healthy paw.
A cohesive wrap is a supportive measure, not a substitute for proper veterinary treatment of a wound that needs it — if there's ongoing bleeding, the injury looks deep, or your dog or cat won't put weight on the paw, that's a reason to see a vet rather than manage it with a bandage at home.

Common questions
- How tight should a cohesive bandage like AniWrap be wrapped?
- Firm enough to stay in place without slipping, but never so tight that it restricts blood flow. Check the toes below the wrap regularly for normal colour and warmth, and loosen or remove it immediately if they feel cold or look pale.
- Can I use AniWrap on an open wound?
- It can hold a proper wound dressing in place over an open wound, but it isn't a dressing or a treatment on its own, and it shouldn't go directly over broken skin without something protective underneath. Any wound that's deep, won't stop bleeding, or isn't healing as expected needs a vet, not just a bandage.
- How long can I leave a cohesive bandage on my dog or cat?
- Change it regularly rather than leaving one on for several days, particularly over a wound, and check underneath each time for soreness, swelling or a smell that wasn't there before. If anything looks worse rather than better, that's worth a call to your vet.
- Will AniWrap stick to my dog's fur?
- No — cohesive bandage is designed to stick only to itself, not to fur or skin, which is the main advantage over a standard adhesive tape dressing. It still needs wrapping carefully, since it can pull on fur if applied unevenly or removed roughly.
