Ankur dog bowls

Ankur makes stainless steel dog bowls and dishes finished to look less clinical than a plain metal bowl, without giving up on stainless steel's durability and easy cleaning. We stock three designs from the range, each in more than one size.

The three designs

The Ankur Leather Style Dish is a stainless steel bowl with a leather-look outer finish, sold across three sizes, giving a warmer look than plain metal while keeping a steel interior that is easy to clean and resistant to chewing. The Ankur Hammer Dish takes a different approach with a copper hammered exterior, also across three sizes, and is noted as easy-clean, which matters for a textured finish that could otherwise trap food residue in the wrong material.

The Ankur Non Skid Bowl is the most functional of the three, built with a non-skid base and offered across three colour and capacity options — the widest size range of the three designs, running from smaller portions up to larger capacities for bigger dogs.

Choosing between them

If your dog is an enthusiastic eater who pushes a bowl across the floor, the Non Skid Bowl solves that specific problem in a way the other two designs are not built around. If you are choosing mainly on how the bowl looks in your kitchen alongside other stainless steel dishes, the Leather Style or Hammer finish gives a different look from a plain bowl without changing what it is made from.

All three are stainless steel underneath the finish, so they share the same core durability and are dishwasher-friendly in the way most stainless steel pet bowls are, whichever design you choose. None are marketed for a particular breed or size beyond the options offered, so match the size to your own dog's appetite rather than assuming one size suits every household.

Common questions

Are Ankur bowls dishwasher safe?
They are stainless steel underneath their various finishes, which is generally dishwasher-friendly, but check the specific product listing for any care guidance on the leather-look or hammered exterior before washing it the same way as a plain steel bowl.
Which Ankur bowl stops my dog pushing it around?
The Ankur Non Skid Bowl is built specifically with a non-skid base for that problem, which the Leather Style and Hammer Dish designs are not built around in the same way, so it is the better choice for an enthusiastic or messy eater.
Do the Ankur bowls come in different sizes?
Yes, the Leather Style Dish and Hammer Dish both come in three sizes, and the Non Skid Bowl covers the widest range with three colour and capacity options, so there is some choice across all three designs rather than one fixed size.
Is a metal bowl better than plastic for dogs?
Stainless steel is generally easier to keep genuinely clean than plastic, since it will not scratch and hold bacteria the way a worn plastic bowl can over time, which is one reason it is a common choice for a dog's everyday feeding bowl.
