Size guide & how to measure

These boots are sized by paw WIDTH – the widest part of the paw. The figures are the boot's inner width, so measure your dog's paw width first and choose a size slightly larger.

How to measure

Stand your dog on paper so the paw spreads to its natural width.
Mark the widest points and measure straight across, in cm.
Measure with the paw on the ground (lifted paws read too small). Choose a size a little larger than the measured width.

Figures are the boot's inner width from the manufacturer's chart (manual measurement error within 0.3 cm is normal). Choose strictly by paw width, a touch larger than measured.

Full description

Grit, road salt and frozen ground do more damage to paws than cold alone. Salt burns the pads and then gets licked off afterwards, and ice packs hard between the toes on long-coated dogs until they start limping. A set of four boots deals with all of that in one go, and the fleece lining means paws are not merely protected but genuinely warm on a long winter walk.

Each boot has a soft fleece lining against the paw, an anti-slip rubber sole for grip on wet pavement and tile, and a velcro strap that pulls tight around the ankle. The strap is the part that decides whether boots work at all: too loose and they come off in the first field, too tight and the dog objects within a minute. Because they adjust rather than rely on elastic, you can set the tension once and leave it.
