These boots are sized by paw WIDTH — the widest part of the paw. Measure the width first; the weights are only a rough guide.

How to measure

Stand your dog on a piece of paper so the paw spreads to its natural width.
Mark the widest points and measure straight across, in cm.
Measure a front paw (usually a touch bigger than the back). If between sizes, size up.

Full description

Pavements in July get hot enough to blister a pad, and the same route in winter is salted and gritted, which is what boots are really for. Mesh uppers make them wearable in the first case, letting heat and moisture out instead of sealing a paw into a warm plastic bag, and that airlessness is exactly why so many dogs refuse footwear after one attempt and never try again.

Underneath is a wear-resistant non-slip sole doing two jobs at once: taking the abrasion of rough tarmac, and giving grip on the polished indoor floors that older dogs struggle with. A hook-and-loop strap pulls the boot closed above the joint, which is what actually keeps a boot on a moving dog, and the reflective band sits on that strap at ankle height, which is precisely where a driver's headlights fall on a dark lane.
