Full description

Wet fur cools a dog faster than cold air does, which is why a short-coated dog can shiver through a mild rainy walk and be perfectly comfortable on a dry, colder one. Keeping the rain out matters more than piling on thickness, and this coat is built around that idea: a waterproof outer over a longer back, so water runs off rather than soaking in behind the shoulders.

A padded panel across the chest covers the part of a dog that meets the weather first and has the least coat to spare, while the extended back length carries protection past the ribs. Reflective piping is worked into the seams rather than added as a single strip, so there is something to catch headlights from more than one angle on a winter afternoon. The coat is light, between 125g and 305g depending on size, so it is not something a dog has to work to walk in.
