These boots are sized by paw WIDTH — the widest part of the paw. Measure the width first; any weights are only a rough guide.

How to measure

Stand your dog on paper so the paw spreads to its natural width.
Mark the widest points and measure straight across, in cm.
Measure a front paw (usually a touch bigger than the back). If between sizes, size up.

Full description

Fitting boots to a dog who will not stand still is the whole difficulty, and a zip closes faster than a strap threads. These four close with a reflective zip up the back of the leg, so each boot goes on in a single pull and stays shut without fiddling while your dog shifts weight onto the one paw you are trying to hold off the ground.

The soles are chunky moulded rubber rather than thin fabric, which is what makes them useful on gravel tracks, gritted pavements and stubble fields, the sort of ground that shreds a soft bootie in a season. That same thickness holds heat and cold away from the pad, so they earn their keep in July on tarmac as much as in January on salt. Reflective tape on the zip adds visibility as the light goes.
