Full description

Fleece earns its place in a dog's wardrobe for one reason: it holds warm air against the coat without adding weight, so a dog who resents a heavy padded coat will often tolerate a jumper without complaint. This one has a hood and ribbed cuffs, and comes in a tie-dye finish considerably louder than the navy quilted thing everyone else at the park is wearing.

The ribbing at the cuffs is the practical detail. A plain fleece sleeve rides up the leg and bunches at the shoulder within a few minutes of walking, whereas ribbing grips and holds the sleeve where you put it. The hood does the same job at the other end, sitting close enough to keep wind off the neck and ears. This is a warm layer rather than a waterproof one, so it does its best work on cold dry days.
