Full description

Getting a coat onto a cat, or onto a small dog who hates having legs pushed through holes, is a fight nobody needs before a walk. A cape avoids the argument entirely: it drapes over the back and fastens at the front, so nothing has to be threaded anywhere, and it lifts straight off again the moment your pet has had enough. That makes it far more likely to actually get used.

The outer is sherpa fleece, the looped curly-pile kind that traps a layer of air rather than merely feeling soft, and it is backed with a white plush lining. The hood carries a pair of teddy-bear ears. Warmth here comes from trapped air, which means it does its best work indoors, in the car and on brief trips outside. It is not waterproof, so it wets through in rain rather than shedding it.
