On sizing and fit
paw protectors have to match your dog's paw width, and dogs need several short sessions indoors before they will walk normally in them. Put them straight on for a two-hour walk and you will end up carrying a dog who has refused to move. We would rather confirm the sizes currently in stock with you than print measurements we cannot stand behind, so ask before you order. On the heat itself, the simple test still works: press the back of your hand to the pavement for seven seconds, and if you cannot hold it there, the walk waits until evening.

Details
Two things catch people out on a hot walk, and both come down to ground and water. Pavement holds heat long after the air has cooled, and a dog cannot sweat it off; they pant instead, which costs them water far faster than they will ever let on. This bundle covers both problems, and the mud that arrives home on four feet afterwards.
The travel water bottle is the item that should live in the walking bag all year: it pours into an attached bowl and takes the unused water back in, so you are not tipping half a litre onto the path every hour. The paw protectors cover the walk across hot tarmac, road grit and stubble. The paw cleaner is a cup of soft bristles that each foot goes into with a little water, which deals with the mud at the front door rather than across the hall carpet.
- Three-item summer walking bundle
- Travel water bottle with integrated drinking bowl
- Paw protectors for hot pavements and rough ground
- Paw cleaner cup with soft bristles
- Fits a walking bag or a car door pocket
- Rinses clean between walks

Who it's for: dogs walked on town pavements through the summer, flat-faced breeds who overheat within minutes, and anyone tired of paw prints down the hall.
Why we chose it
Pavement holds heat long after the air has cooled, and a dog cannot sweat it off. The bottle, the paw protectors and the cleaner cover the whole walk. If you cannot hold the back of your hand on the pavement, the walk waits until evening.

Size guide
Dog boot size guide
Boots and paw protectors are sized by paw WIDTH — the widest part of the paw when your dog is standing and the paw is spread. Measure width first; any weights are only a rough guide.
How to measure
- Stand your dog on a piece of paper so the paw spreads to its natural width.
- Mark the widest points on each side and measure straight across, in cm.
- Measure a front paw (usually a touch bigger than the back). If between sizes, size up.
| Rough size | Paw width (widest point) | Typical dog |
|---|---|---|
| XS | up to ~3 cm | Toy breeds, puppies (Chihuahua, Yorkie) |
| S | ~3–4 cm | Small dogs (Shih Tzu, Miniature Dachshund) |
| M | ~4–5 cm | Medium dogs (Cocker Spaniel, Beagle) |
| L | ~5–6 cm | Large dogs (Labrador, Border Collie) |
| XL | 6 cm + | Large & giant breeds (German Shepherd, Rottweiler) |
This is a general guide only — boot sizing varies a lot by brand. Always check this product’s own size options and Specifications, and measure your dog’s paw width before ordering.
