Full description

A working dog’s appetite does not show how demanding the day has been, so the declared protein and fat figures are the useful place to start comparing working diets.

Skinner’s Field & Trial Working 26 is a complete dry food for adult dogs in a 2.5KG bag. Poultry meat meal heads the composition, followed by wheat, maize, poultry fat, naked oats, barley and beet pulp, with vitamins and minerals. The analysis declares 26% protein, 16% fat, 7.5% crude ash and 3% crude fibre, with 375 kcal/100g. Its additives include vitamins A, D3 and E plus declared trace elements, antioxidants and preservatives.

Complete dry food for adult dogs
2.5kg or 15kg bag
26% protein and 16% fat
7.5% crude ash and 3% crude fibre
Poultry meat meal is first in the composition

Before filling the bowl: Under 10kg: up to 150g daily; 10–20kg: 150–260g; 20–32kg: 260–400g; 32–45kg: 400–500g; 45kg and over: 450g or more. Feed dry or add a little water, keep fresh water available, and account for breed, size and activity level. Those are broad manufacturer ranges, so the table does not turn the dog’s job or condition into a single automatic portion.

Who it's for: owners feeding an adult working dog who want the middle Working recipe, between the lower-fat and higher-fat options, and who are content with a formula containing wheat, maize and barley.

Why we chose it

The 26% protein and 16% fat declaration gives this recipe a clear place between the other numbered Working foods. I also like that the full composition and additive declaration are available, so the choice can be made from the label rather than the name alone.
