Cats mostly do not need bathing, and trying to bath one is a fight nobody wins. A wipe shaped like a glove sidesteps the entire problem, because you slip it over your hand and stroke the cat, and from the cat's point of view very little unusual is happening. That difference in how it feels to the animal is the whole reason this shape exists.

The glove shape turns out to be more useful than it sounds. A flat wipe means pinching a small square between finger and thumb and dabbing at things, whereas a glove puts your whole palm on the animal, so you can work down a back, round a belly and along each leg in one continuous motion and reach the awkward spots without a struggle. They lift dirt, odour and loose fur as you go, and suit long, short and curly coats alike.

• Glove-shaped wipes that slip over the hand
• No water or rinsing needed
• Lifts dirt, odour and loose hair

• For cats and dogs

On pack size and where not to wipe. Keep them away from the eyes and the inside of the ears, do not use them on broken or sore skin, and remember a cat will groom off whatever you put on the coat, so stick to the body rather than the face.

Who it's for: Owners of a bath-hating cat or a muddy dog who want a quick clean-up at the back door without filling the tub.
