Size guide & how to measure

These are tall suspender-style boots that run up the lower leg, so they are sized by more than the paw. Measurements are the manufacturer's own figures, in inches — check the paw AND the leg/thigh before choosing.

How to measure

Place your dog's front paw on paper, lift the other front paw, then draw around it and measure the paw length between the two lines.
Measure limb length (floor to top of the shoulder blade) and thigh girth, since the boots extend up the leg on suspender straps.
Do not just order your usual size. If your dog is between two sizes, choose the smaller size; front and back paws may differ.

Full description

The reason most dog boots end up in a drawer is not that they were uncomfortable. It is that one came off somewhere between the park and home and nobody noticed until there were three left. Straps around the ankle work loose as a dog moves, and a boot that has loosened by a millimetre is a boot on its way off. These take the anchoring somewhere it cannot slip: adjustable suspender straps run up over the dog's body, so each boot is held from above rather than gripped from around.

That changes the fit problem entirely. A boot no longer has to be tight enough to stay on by friction alone, which means less pressure round the ankle and a dog more willing to keep walking normally instead of doing the high-stepping march that boots usually produce. Underneath, the soles are grippy rubber for wet pavements and rough ground, the build is waterproof to keep paws dry through slush and puddles, and reflective trim on the uppers adds a bit of visibility on a dark afternoon.
