This is the darker of the three finishes, in deep green with gold-tone fittings, and it is the one to pick if you would rather the stroller did not announce itself. Practically, the dark fabric also hides muddy paw prints and the general grime of a winter of walks far better than the paler options, which is a duller reason and probably a better one.

The engineering is the same across the range and it is sound. A steel four-wheel frame, two wheels with brakes and shock-absorbing hardware so kerbs do not jolt a sleeping dog, and an Oxford cloth basket with mesh panels so air moves through even with the canopy down. The canopy sets to three heights, a rain cover comes in the box for when it turns, and two interior leads clip to a harness to stop a startled dog going over the side.

Worth knowing before you buy. It folds to 28cm deep, which fits most car boots flat, but check yours — an 85cm folded length is longer than it sounds and it is the dimension people misjudge.
