A flea comb only earns its keep if it actually catches what it's aimed at, which is a lower bar than it sounds - plenty of combs move fur about without doing much to the fleas hiding in it.

This is Mikki's Compact Flea Comb, made from plastic and designed to work on fleas and their eggs so they don't simply relocate further down the coat. It's easily washable, so the comb itself doesn't become somewhere fleas can hide between uses, and full instructions are printed on the back of the pack.

• Sold as a single comb
• Designed to catch fleas and flea eggs
• Washable for hygiene between uses
• Instructions printed on the back of the pack
• For dogs

One thing worth knowing. Mikki don't publish the tooth spacing in millimetres, so we can't confirm how it performs on a very thick or double coat versus a short one - the on-pack instructions are the best guide for how to use it properly.

Who it's for: owners doing routine flea checks who want a comb that's actually designed around catching fleas and eggs, rather than a generic grooming comb.
