Some dogs treat every meal as a race against a housemate that isn't there, gulping food that nobody is actually about to steal — a texture that makes gulping harder is a more reliable fix than training the habit away.

This mat carries LickiMat's raised brush-tip pattern, for soft or liquid foods such as yoghurt, purées, gravy and wet food, built to slow eating pace and support oral health and mental enrichment. It's 20 x 20cm, in human-grade food-safe TPR, freezer safe, microwave friendly and hand washable.

Colour, not scent, again. 'Lavender' names this mat's colour rather than a fragrance — LickiMat list no scent or flavour anywhere on the card. Their advice for teething puppies or heavy chewers is the same across the range: use the Keeper accessory alongside it.

Who it's for: owners of a dog that eats too fast, especially with wet or liquid food, wanting a texture built to slow that down rather than a plain bowl.
