A dog that eats too fast is a dog at risk of choking or bloating, and a raised centre in the bowl is the simplest mechanical fix for it — the food has to go around the obstruction rather than down in one gulp. Hemm & Boo's Pop Up bowl builds that in while also solving the separate problem of a bowl that won't fit in a bag.

It's a collapsible "Anti Gulp" bowl with a raised centre to slow eating and aid digestion, popping up to two different heights and folding flat when not needed. It's dishwasher safe, and finished at 18 x 13 x 6cm.

• Collapsible, folds flat for packing
• Raised "Anti Gulp" centre to slow eating
• Pops up to two heights
• Dishwasher safe
• 18 x 13 x 6cm
• Available in blue, red or pink

One thing worth knowing. This is built and marketed as a travel bowl — for days out, camping or walks — rather than a permanent kitchen bowl, so if you want a slow feeder for everyday home use, it's worth knowing this one's designed to be folded away between uses.

Who it's for: owners of a fast eater who want a slow-feed bowl that also folds flat for the car, a bag or a rucksack, rather than a bowl that only works at home.
