Full description

A retractable lead is only as good as its brake, because the moment that fails is the moment a dog on a 5m line meets something it really wants to get to.

This is flexi's Black Design tape lead: a 5 metre tape line housed in a size SML case, rated for dogs up to a maximum of 15kg. flexi build in a braking system to hold the lead at whatever length you've let out, and the case can be fitted with their own Multi Box or LED Lighting System accessories if you want to add either later.

5m tape lead
For dogs up to max. 15kg
Comfortable braking system
Can be customised with flexi's Multi Box and LED Lighting System
Available in black, blue or pink

On sizing: the 15kg maximum is a hard limit from flexi, not a suggestion - a retractable lead relies on the case's own brake and gearing, and going over the rated weight is what makes that brake unreliable. If your dog is close to 15kg or still growing, it's worth sizing up rather than pushing this one to its limit.

Who it's for: owners of dogs up to 15kg who want the freedom of a long lead on an open walk, in a choice of three colours.

Why we chose it

flexi's braking system is the reason to pick a proper retractable over a cheaper copy - it's the part that actually stops a dog reaching a road, and it's not something worth compromising on. The three colour options also mean it's easy to tell whose lead is whose if there's more than one dog in the house.
