Size guide & how to measure
Sized by your dog's chest (bust), back length and neck, with a rough weight guide.
How to measure
- Measure the chest (bust) at its widest point, just behind the front legs.
- Measure the back from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.
- Measure the neck where a collar naturally sits, then check all three against the chart.
| Size | Chest (bust) | Back length | Neck | Rough weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 27 cm | 20 cm | 20 cm | 0.5–1 kg |
| S | 32 cm | 22 cm | 21 cm | 1–2 kg |
| M | 38 cm | 27 cm | 25 cm | 2.5–3.5 kg |
| L | 44 cm | 31 cm | 28 cm | 4–5 kg |
| XL | 50 cm | 35 cm | 31 cm | 5.5–8 kg |
| 2XL | 56 cm | 39 cm | 35 cm | 8.5–11 kg |
| 3XL | 63 cm | 44 cm | 39 cm | 11.5–16 kg |
| 4XL | 70 cm | 50 cm | 44 cm | 16.5–22.5 kg |
Measurements are the manufacturer's own figures, flat-measured so allow 1–3 cm variation; weights converted from the maker's catties (1 catty = 0.5 kg). If between sizes, size up.
Full description
Two garments in one is usually a compromise, and it is worth being clear about which half of this one is the strong half. The warm bit is genuinely warm: a sherpa-backed fleece body with a flared skirt, cut close so it holds heat against a small dog on a cold walk. The walking ring on the back is the bonus rather than the reason to buy.
Sherpa pile traps air the way a double coat does, which is exactly what a smooth-coated or elderly dog is short of in November. The dress pulls on rather than buckling, sits against the body without bunching under the front legs, and the D-ring sits high on the back where a lead will not tangle in the skirt. Sizes run from extra small to large in pink, brown or khaki.
- Sherpa-lined fleece body with a flared skirt
- Leopard print in pink, brown or khaki
- Sizes XS, S, M and L
- D-ring set into the back for a lead
- Product weight 90g to 110g
- Ships in a 30 x 20 x 3cm pack
About that walking ring. A D-ring stitched to a light fleece garment is fine for clipping a lead onto a settled dog pottering along a pavement. It is not a harness, and we would not trust it with a dog who lunges at squirrels or throws its weight against the lead. If yours does either, keep using a proper harness and treat this purely as a coat.
Who it's for: Owners of small, short-coated or senior dogs who walk calmly and want one soft layer that a lead can clip to.
