A licensed character on a dog toy is really there for the person buying it, but a well-built plush underneath the branding still has to survive actual play, licence or not.
This is the Eric Carle Hungry Caterpillar Rope Tug, a plush dog toy inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar, measuring 22cm. It has a rope tug at one end for a game of tug-of-war, and is filled with squeakers and crinkle paper for extra sound and interest. The maker notes the wider range comes in three different sizes, though the size we carry is 22cm.
- Measures 22cm
- Rope tug attached at one end
- Filled with squeakers and crinkle paper
- Licensed Eric Carle caterpillar design
- Part of a range offered in three sizes (this listing is 22cm)
One thing worth knowing. The wider licensed range comes in three sizes according to the maker, but this particular listing is the 22cm version - so if the caterpillar's proportions matter to you, a much bigger or smaller dog, say, this is the specific size you'd be getting, not a size you choose at checkout.
Who it's for: fans of The Very Hungry Caterpillar buying for a dog that enjoys a rope tug and a bit of noise, at the 22cm size.

Why we chose it
A well-known children's book character is an easy way to make a dog toy memorable rather than generic, and this one backs the licence up with an actual rope tug rather than being purely decorative. Squeakers and crinkle paper together also give it two different sounds instead of one.
