Full description

Ears are where a cold wind actually gets to a dog. A coat can cover everything from the shoulders back and still leave the head, neck and ears exposed to the part of a February walk that makes a dog want to turn round and go home. A knitted snood closes that gap, wrapping the head, ears and neck in one piece and pulling in with a drawstring so nothing flaps about.

The drawstring is what makes a snood work across different head shapes. Rather than a fixed opening it cinches to whatever face is inside it, so one size covers a broader range than a stitched hood would. Knit has stretch and no rigid edges, so there is nothing pressing on the ears. It layers over a coat or a jumper without conflicting with either, since the two garments cover entirely different parts of the dog.
