Measurements are the manufacturer's own figures and their column headings are reproduced exactly as printed. Two of the maker's own headings are unclear: "Domain" is an untranslated heading whose figures (56-66) are larger than the chest figures, and no unit is printed against any column. The maker also repeats 62 for both L and XL under "Domain". Treat "Bust" and "Length" as the reliable columns and, if between sizes, size up.

Full description

The trouble with most dog rain coats is not that they let water in, it is that they trap heat trying to get out. A dog cannot sweat, so a solid waterproof lining over a working body turns into a sauna within a mile and comes home wetter inside than out. A shell with a mesh liner rather than a solid one lets that heat move, which is why this suits a brisk walk and not just standing at the school gate.

The outer is a light waterproof fabric that packs down small enough to keep in a coat pocket for the days the forecast will not commit either way. Underneath, breathable mesh holds the wet outer off the coat, an adjustable buckle strap sets the fit round the body, and reflective piping picks up headlights on a dark lane. At 208 g to 355 g by size, it is a layer most dogs stop noticing after a few minutes.
