Hover to zoomSize guide & how to measure
Pet coats and jumpers are sized mainly by back length, with chest girth as a second check. Back length matters most for coverage.
How to measure
- Back length: measure along the spine from the base of the neck (collar area) to the base of the tail.
- Chest: measure around the widest part of the ribcage, behind the front legs.
- If the two measurements suggest different sizes, choose by back length and allow for the chest.
| Size | Typical back length | Typical chest |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 20–25 cm | 30–40 cm |
| S | 25–32 cm | 38–50 cm |
| M | 32–40 cm | 48–62 cm |
| L | 40–50 cm | 60–76 cm |
| XL | 50–60 cm | 74–92 cm |
Ranges are approximate and vary by style. Always check this product’s Specifications for its exact measurements.

Full description
Half the year in Britain is not really rain so much as persistent drizzle, and a heavy waxed coat is far more than a small dog needs to walk to the park and back in it. This is the light end of the scale: a printed polyester shell that keeps a shower off the back and shoulders, folds into a coat pocket, and dries on a radiator by teatime.
Polyester sheds water for a while rather than sealing it out permanently, and that is the honest description of what you are buying - a shower coat, not a mountain jacket. The upside is that it weighs between 80 and 110g and does not restrict a dog's stride, which is the difference between a coat a dog walks normally in and one it stands still in, looking betrayed.
- Polyester shell
- Four sizes: S, M, L and XL
- Three prints: cute travelling bear, sweet ice cream, light fragrant flowers
- Weighs 80g to 110g depending on size
- Twelve print and size combinations
- Supplied as one coat
Check the measurement first. The maker lists S to XL but publishes no centimetre table, and we would rather say so than invent one. Send us your dog's back length from collar to tail base and the girth behind the front legs and we will measure the coat itself before it goes out. Treat it as showerproof rather than waterproof - a long walk in real rain will get through it.
Who it's for: small and medium dogs on daily pavement walks in ordinary British weather, and owners who mind more about mud on the coat than technical fabric.

Why we chose it
A shower coat, not a mountain jacket, and I would rather say so. It folds into a pocket and dries on a radiator, which suits a pavement walk in drizzle. No size chart published - send me the back length.
