Two things worth knowing
Size by chest girth measured behind the front legs rather than by weight, and tighten the straps enough that the jacket cannot be pulled over your dog's head. And a buoyancy aid is not supervision: it does not make a strong current safe, and cold water still shortens how long any dog can usefully swim.

How to measure
- Please measure the widest part of your dog's chest.
- Measure the neck circumference where the collar sits, and the back length from the neck to the base of the tail.
- If there is a difference between the neck and chest, use the chest measurement.

Full description
Plenty of dogs can swim and still get into trouble in water: a tired retriever in a cold lake, a heavy-chested bulldog sitting too low, a dog pulled sideways by a current in an estuary. Buoyancy takes the panic out of all three, holding the body level so the dog can concentrate on reaching the bank rather than on staying at the surface long enough to get there.
Buoyant panels wrap around both flanks and under the chest, so the flotation sits where a dog's weight is instead of being piled on the back, and adjustable belly straps pull it in to fit deep-chested and barrel-shaped dogs alike. The handle across the shoulders is the part you will use most: it lifts a dog out of a boat, off a slipway or up a riverbank in one movement, and it steers a confused dog towards the shore.
