Full description

Small dogs get the worst of stiff nylon harnesses. Webbing that sits perfectly well on a labrador cuts into a chihuahua's armpit and has the fur off in a fortnight. Sherpa fleece answers that particular problem: soft enough to sit against thin skin all walk, and thick enough to spread the pull of the lead across the whole chest rather than concentrating it on two narrow straps and a collar.

It is a step-in design, so the dog puts their front feet through and the fastening closes over the back, avoiding the part most small dogs object to, which is having a loop pushed over their head. The D-rings sit on top where a lead clip reaches them without twisting the whole harness sideways. Harnesses are sized on chest girth, measured right round the body just behind the front legs, and not on weight, so a compact terrier and a leggy whippet cross of identical weight take different sizes.
