Size guide & how to measure

Pet coats and jumpers are sized mainly by back length, with chest girth as a second check. Back length matters most for coverage.

How to measure

Back length: measure along the spine from the base of the neck (collar area) to the base of the tail.
Chest: measure around the widest part of the ribcage, behind the front legs.
If the two measurements suggest different sizes, choose by back length and allow for the chest.

Single-layer is the detail worth caring about here. A double-layer bandana holds its shape but sits thicker at the knot and traps warmth under the chin, which a heavy-coated dog does not need in September. One layer of fabric drapes flatter, dries faster after a wet walk, and disappears under a collar rather than bulking it out. Two skull-print styles are offered, both cut in large.

Large is the only size, so this is aimed at medium and bigger breeds rather than the small dogs most bandanas are cut for. Tie it over the collar rather than instead of it, leave a finger's slack at the knot, and check that knot again after the first good shake. Knots tighten as a dog moves, and a tightened knot round the neck is the one thing genuinely worth watching for with any bandana.
