Pet coats and jumpers are sized mainly by back length, with chest girth as a second check. Back length matters most for coverage.

How to measure

Back length: measure along the spine from the base of the neck (collar area) to the base of the tail.
Chest: measure around the widest part of the ribcage, behind the front legs.
If the two measurements suggest different sizes, choose by back length and allow for the chest.

Full description

Some dogs simply produce more saliva than others. Boxers, Newfoundlands, Mastiffs, St Bernards and most heavy-jowled breeds leave a trail across the kitchen floor and up the side of the sofa. For those dogs a bib is less a costume than a laundry decision: it catches the drool at the chin, and one bib goes in the wash instead of the throw, the cushions and your trousers.

This one happens to be printed for Halloween, which is a bonus rather than the point of it. The fabric is absorbent rather than water-resistant, so it holds moisture in place instead of shedding it onto the floor, and it sits around the neck at exactly the spot where drool collects before it drips.
