Size guide & how to measure

These boots are sized by paw WIDTH — the widest part of the paw. Measure the width first; any weights are only a rough guide.

How to measure

Stand your dog on paper so the paw spreads to its natural width.
Mark the widest points and measure straight across, in cm.
Measure a front paw (usually a touch bigger than the back). If between sizes, size up.

Full description

Boots divide into two camps: heavy waterproof ones for winter salt and mud, and light breathable ones for everything else. These are firmly in the second camp, and that is a deliberate trade. Mesh uppers let air move through so paws do not cook on a warm day, which is the usual reason a dog starts chewing at boots ten minutes into a walk and refuses to wear them again.

Getting them on is the other half of the problem, and a side zip solves it. The boot opens right out so the paw goes in flat instead of being posted through a narrow cuff, then an adjustable strap above the zip pulls the fit in so they stay on. A textured non-slip sole gives protection against hot or rough pavement outdoors and grip on laminate and tile indoors, which makes them genuinely useful for an older dog whose legs slide on hard floors at home.
