Tripe and liver are two of the ingredients dogs get most excited about and owners are most squeamish about, which is exactly why they tend to turn up in a recipe's small print rather than its name.

Two of the three recipes in this box are detailed on our card: a Turkey & Vegetables Loaf built from chicken (30.5%), turkey and turkey broth (26%), beef (8.5%) and carrots (4%), and a Beef & Vegetables Loaf built from chicken (39%), beef and beef broth (26%), carrots (3%) and peas (1.5%). All three recipes share the same analysis: 8-8.5% protein, 5-5.5% fat, 0.2% fibre, 2% ash and 82% moisture. The pack is grain-free, and the packaging is metal (tray) and card (carton, 100% recycled paper), both described as widely recyclable.

On the recipe names. In both recipes we have full detail for, chicken is actually the largest named ingredient — ahead of the turkey in the "Turkey" loaf and the beef in the "Beef" loaf. They're genuine turkey and beef recipes in that both are present in real quantity; chicken is simply the bigger part of each.

Who it's for: owners wanting a grain-free variety box with tripe or liver among the ingredients, who don't mind that chicken is the actual base running through the range.
