Weight management food often reads as a compromise a dog has to put up with, but the more useful framing is that it is simply a lighter version of the same meal rather than a different, less appealing one. This range positions itself exactly that way: 20% less fat, not a different flavour profile.

The case holds three recipes - with chicken, with beef, and with turkey - each built on roughly 70% British and Irish farmed chicken and beef, with a fibre blend including wholegrain rice, carrots and peas rather than a single filler grain. It comes as 18 cans of 390g.

• 18 cans, three recipes: chicken, beef, turkey
• Around 70% British and Irish farmed chicken and beef per recipe
• Protein 8.5%, fat content 3%, crude fibre 0.3%
• 74 kcal per 100g
• 100% complete and balanced, wholegrain

What "lean" means here. The fat content across the range is 3%, and the recipes are described as a lighter meal than the standard range rather than a diet food for a dog already at a healthy weight - it is worth checking with a vet before switching a dog that needs to lose weight specifically rather than simply eat leaner.

Who it's for: dogs that do better on a lower-fat diet day to day, and owners who want three recipes in rotation rather than one.
